Environmental Protection

1. Environmental Sustainability

Our company first obtained ISO 14001 environmental management system certification in 2004. We conduct regular audits and evaluations to maintain the validity of this certification, using the environmental management system to control our environmental impact. This demonstrates our commitment to improving organizational environmental performance and achieving a balance between environmental, social, and economic factors. We focus on issues such as pollution, inefficient use of resources, improper waste management, climate change, ecosystem degradation, and biodiversity loss. From a product lifecycle perspective, we thoroughly evaluate the environmental impact of every stage—from raw material sourcing and design to manufacturing, logistics, and customer use. Our goal is to minimize our environmental footprint and achieve sustainable business operations while protecting the planet.

All our environmental and safety operations comply with legal and regulatory standards. We regularly track and report our waste generation, set waste reduction targets, promote resource recycling, and implement various energy-saving programs to achieve our goal of a greener planet.

(1) Wastewater Treatment

Our company's production processes use only solid materials and no water, so we do not generate any industrial wastewater. We only produce domestic wastewater from our employees during office hours. At both our headquarters in the Far Eastern Century Plaza and our factory in the Jamei Industrial Park, all wastewater is discharged through pipelines to an underground sewer system for treatment.

(2) Air Pollution Control

本Our company's fundamental principle is to reduce fixed sources of pollution and minimize the use of organic solvents. All equipment that emits air pollutants during our manufacturing processes—including those from SMT (Surface-Mount Technology), DIP (Dual In-line Package), and repair operations, as well as our boiler—is fitted with air collection, exhaust, or absorption devices to lower the concentration of pollutants in the air.

(3) Energy and Resource Control

Our company's primary energy and resource consumption includes electricity, water, and fuel oil. Our management approach for each is detailed below:

  • Electricity Management:
The brightness standards for lighting in our office and operational areas are managed by the General Affairs department. We use energy-efficient LED fixtures. In non-operational areas like stairwells and hallways, we maintain only the necessary brightness. Lights are turned off in unoccupied areas to save electricity. Except for certain products or raw materials that require specific temperatures, the air conditioning in all office and work spaces is kept at a standard temperature setting. All air conditioning units and chiller pipelines are regularly maintained and inspected to preserve their efficiency and reduce electricity consumption. Machines and equipment are shut down during production halts or breaks. We operate equipment according to its manual to ensure smooth functioning, and we centralize production to boost operational efficiency and decrease electricity usage. Office equipment like computers, photocopiers, and printers are regularly maintained to keep them in peak condition and are either shut down or put into sleep mode when not in use to reduce electricity consumption. The General Affairs department conducts periodic electricity conservation campaigns through emails, posters, and other promotional materials.
  • Water Management:
We display water conservation posters in appropriate locations to remind employees to be mindful and avoid unnecessary water waste. In the event of a water outage, we check to ensure all faucets are tightly closed. Any leaks are immediately reported to the General Affairs department for repair. Our drinking water equipment is regularly cleaned and maintained, and water quality is tested every quarter to ensure it is safe and sanitary.
