Leadtek WinFast A350 TDH MyVIVO & ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro Product

Leadtek WinFast A350 TDH MyVIVO & ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro Product Review

WinFast A350 TDH MyVIVO Received the Minty Fresh Award with a Score of 10/10 from CYBERONION

One of the most renowned Product Review Site, CYBERONION, recently had the opportunity to evaluate Leadtek WinFast A350 TDH MyVIVO (NVIDIA GeForce FX5900 GPU) and ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro. The results speak for themselves, as the NVIDIA FX5900 based WinFast A350 TDH MyVIVO beat out ATI's All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro with the score of 10/10. The following is the review conclusion from the Chief Editor at CYBERONION, Sean Montgomery.

I've seen some interesting video card fan designs in my editorial career and I have to say that this one made me do a double take. We don't often see a card completely incased in an aluminum heatsink! And this Leadtek 5900 is just that. Completely incased. Its dual fan setup pushes air through specially designed ducting that yields high-flow cooling, without the jet-engine noise-levels now common with some high-end graphic chipsets

First before I go into detail about the card itself, let's take a look at what's included in the box.

  • WinFast A350 THD MyVIVO videocard
  • S-Video cable
  • RCA video cable
  • Y power connector
  • MyVIVOCable (for video in/video out)
  • DVI-VGAdongle
  • WinFast Driver CD with utilities
  • WinFast DVD playback software
  • Ulead DVD Movie Factorysoftware disk
  • Ulead VideoStudio 7SEsoftware disk
  • Ulead Cool 3D SE softwaredisk
  • Big Mutha Trucker — full game
  • GunMetal — full game

…Taking a closer look at this car reveals something unique. Leadtek has included Video IN/Video Out (VIVO) functionality, on top of an already great card. And though many video cards have TV out capabilities, and some even have a video-in option as well, but the WinFast A350 THD MyVIVO includes PVR (personal video recorder) functionality. Very cool. The PVR will allow the user to record and view items sent through the Video In--even view multiple items in a Picture-In-Picture. Plus, it supports MPEG1/MPEG2/VCD and DVD formats and includes a tool (Direct Burn) that lets you burn the videos directly to a CD or DVD. If you already have a burner, that is.

If you are familiar with the WinFast line of video cards then you've probably already seen WinFox, which is Leadtek's often-included software utility suite. Included herein was WinFox version 2.0, which includes Overclocking Speed-Runner, gamma correction utilities, and the Display Hardware monitor to keep an eye on the functions of the graphics card, Screen Correction software, Desktop Redraw, and something called Tea Break utility. Most are fairly self explanatory but the Tea Break is something new; it's basically an alarm clock that you can set so you can take a break from what ever you are doing. Ding-ding; tea is served.

(Twin Turbo-II Module)
(Copper Heatsink)

As mentioned before, the A350 is entirely encased in an aluminum heatsink. The top piece is Leadtek's Twin Turbo-II cooling system. Underneath the cover is a copper heatsink that attaches to the GPU with aluminum, which then covers the memory chips. The cover houses two 50mm fans, which are quiet, yet surprisingly efficient. The setup forces the maximum amount of air over the GPU and keeps things running cool. All of these factors add up to a very unique, but efficient, design.

Score: 10/10 With the numbers we've seen here, and the sheer number of features included, the WinFast A350 TDH MyVIVO is worthy of any system! It comes with a ton of software and connectors, plus the Video-In/Video-Out functions work flawlessly. While it holds it own quite well against the ATI 9700 Pro-based card, the 9800 Pro-series may be too much of a challenge. But that's what the WinFast A350 Ultra TDH MyVIVO is for. We'll save that for another review all together. Until both those cards are finally available, I have no problem giving it our highest honor: The Minty Fresh Award.
