The NVIDIA Quadro® FX 4000 SDI by Leadtek Composites Graphics, Video, and Output of Live Video to true

Leadtek Research Inc., the exclusive workstation partner of NVIDIA in Asia except in Japan, introduced the NVIDIA Quadro® FX 4000 SDI, a workstation-based graphics solution enabling breakthrough weather, news, sports, and virtual-set broadcast as well as video and film post production. FX 4000 SDI has all of the graphics capability of the standard NVIDIA Quadro FX 4000, plus the additional capability to output uncompressed SDI Video out and to genlock (synchronizes graphics to externally generated sync signal).

FX 4000 SDI is the ideal solution for digital broadcast professionals, who use various applications such as virtual-sets, sports, and weather news systems to composite live video footage onto virtual backgrounds and send the result to live video for TV broadcast. The NVIDIA Quadro FX 4000 SDI by Leadtek also allows film production, post-production, and finishing professionals to preview the results of 3D compositing, editing, and color grading in real time on HD broadcast monitors. This graphics-to-video-out solution delivers uncompressed 10-bit SDI from programmable graphics, enabling a direct connection to broadcast monitors, switchers, tape decks, or SDI projectors.

The NVIDIA Quadro FX 4000 SDI provides two channels–fill or key–of 8-bit or 10-bit uncompressed SDI in HD or SD formats, and analog and digital house synchronization. It supports both Windows and Linux, and works on top of existing applications, or can be easily integrated within a broadcast or video editing application through NVIDIA's API.

The NVIDIA Quadro FX 4000 SDI graphics-to-video-out solution performs real-time rendering, high-precision video color conversion, and gamma correction. A dedicated video backend unit, complete with analog and digital house sync capability, ensures high-quality SDI video signal formatting and transmission. This enables broadcast and non-linear editing systems to output true, uncompressed 10-bit SDI video in SMPTE standard formats and directly connects to broadcast monitors for previewing, switchers for on-air broadcasting, and SDI projectors for digital dailies.

The NVIDIA Quadro FX 4000 SDI leverages the new Quadro FX 4000 architecture with 2x the geometry and fill rate, 5x the hardware pixel read-back performance, and 1.25x the memory bandwidth of previous generation workstation graphics. It also supports ultra-fast GDDR3 memory and rotated-grid FSAA for increased color accuracy and improved visual quality of edges and lines without compromising performance.
