Leadtek’s multimedia IP phone solution for telecom is shown at CeBIT

Taipei, Taiwan, Feb 25, 2011- A cloud computing and video telecommunication products leading manufacturer, Leadtek Research Inc. is delighted to invite you to our booth at Hall 13 – D76 during CeBIT, from March 1 to 5, 2011. Leadtek will demonstrate a total multimedia IP phone solution for telecom. This solution has already been launched successfully in Taiwan by ChungHwa Telecom (NYSE: CHT) and installed in thousands of homes.

This solution includes the AMOR8210 multimedia phone and NSC3622-SIP based PTZ IP Camera, which can provide unique services such as surveillance, entertainment, 3-way video conferencing, and updated Internet information and health monitoring. AMOR8210 features a seven-inch, high-resolution touch screen. The housing has a built-in battery and wireless communication function that can be separated from the cradle for tablet-like manipulation. Its DECT handset allows users to make in-room phone calls without a cord. Connecting networking wires and traditional phone lines to RJ45 and RJ11 Ports behind the cradle allows VoIP and PSTN phone calls to be made in an easy-to-use manner.

Leadtek works with ChungHwa Telecom to provide multimedia services. Cloud services consist of video and audio telephony, weather forecasts, public transportation timetables, restaurant/hospital locations, patient registration, medical care, SMS, taxi bookings, video recorders, Internet radio, and multi-media and music playback. Other telecoms also integrate AMOR8210 and IP Camera into IMS systems to benefit video telephony, remote telecare, video surveillance and 3G interoperability for SMEs and home markets. For example, AMOR8210 features a reed switch to offer a video surveillance application for security enhancement. It receives a signal from the reed switch and starts to record video when the reed switch is triggered by a burglary. It also simultaneously streams video to a backend storage server as well as sends an SMS message to the head of the household's mobile. Users can use the 3G mobile to call the server to review the recorded video or make a video call to AMOR8210 for real time monitoring. Moreover, users can upload their daily blood pressure and pulse data to a backend system to monitor their health status by using AMOR 8210. All of the above applications will be shown at CeBIT in Hannover.
