Based on 65nm technology and powered by NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT graphics processing unit, Leadtek has taken the NVIDIA's reference specification a step further with their WinFast PX9600 GT 1024MB and raised the GPU clock speed to 675 MHz, the shader clock speed to 1.65 GHz, and 1024MB of GDDR3 on a 256-bit memory bus. They are designed to run perfectly with the PCI Express 2.0 interface and the new bus architecture that doubles the interconnect bit rate from 2.5 to 5.0 GT/second in a seamless and compatible manner. In addition, it is fully backward compatible with existing PCI Express 1.0 motherboards for the broadest support. The NVIDIA reference fansink is also replaced by Leadtek's exclusive heat-exhaust-efficiency S-FANPIPE fansink. The S-Pipe fansink conducts heat on GPU via an S-shape copper heatpipe to the fan for dramatic cool-down.
